Education

With the founding of the Pitt County Female Institute in the mid 1800's, Farmville took the lead in providing excellence in education. That tradition continues today. Farmville's unique four-school campus, which provides shared resources and a quality educational environment for grades K-12, is at the forefront of the nationwide movement to create "neighborhood schools."

The Farmville schools are part of the Pitt County School System, which features Career-Technical Education. This program of study empowers students to effectively participate in an international economy as world-class workers and citizens. All career-technical education students in North Carolina will be equipped with the academic, technical and employability skills necessary to succeed in a dynamic, global workplace and/or in further education or training. Program areas of the Career-Technical Education Course of Study include agriculture, business and information technology, family and consumer sciences, health occupations, marketing, and trade and industry.
