Town Government

The Town of Farmville operates under the Council/Manager form of government. The elected Board of Commissioners shall appoint the Town Manager who shall be responsible for administration of all departments of the Town government and manage the day-to-day operations of municipal services.

The Mayor and five Board of Commissioners are elected by the citizens of the Town of Farmville in November. The Mayor serves a two year term while each of the Commissioners serves a four-year term.

Town of Farmville Board of Commissioners hold a regular meeting on the first Tuesday of each month, except that if a regular meeting day is a legal holiday, the meeting shall be held the following week pending approval by the Board of Commissioners. The meeting is held in the Municipal Building Courtroom and begins at 7:30 p.m. Any individual or group who wishes to address the Town Board shall make a request to be on the agenda to the Town Manager. Citizens who would like to present any comments to the Board of Commissioners must sign in before 7:20 p.m. with the Town Clerk.
