The Farmville Public Library, a department of the Town of Farmville, was established in 1930, has been in its current location since 1954 and was expanded and renovated in 1997.

The Farmville Public Library provides materials, programs, space, and services to inform, inspire, educate and entertain.
The Children’s Department offers a variety of activities for children, including weekly story times for a variety of age groups, special events, and annual Summer Reading programs. For the latest schedule of events, please visit www.farmvillelibrary.org/home/Children
The Library’s Children’s Librarian is also available present story times at day cares, schools, and similar organizations free of charge. If you would like to request a story time at your organization, please call the Library at (252) 753-3355, or email Connie Widney at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Collection, Resources, and Services
The Library’s growing collection of print and audiovisual materials currently totals over 37,000 titles, including a North Carolina Collection, Reference Collection, Fiction and Non-Fiction for all ages, Large Print, DVDs, and Books on CD. Over seventy five different magazine and newspaper titles are also available.
The Library is also part of the NC Cardinal catalog consortium. By being a part of the consortium, patrons of Farmville Public Library have access to over 5 million items available from other North Carolina consortium libraries. If material is desired that the Library does not currently have, it can be requested and sent to you, free of charge. The online catalog can be accessed by visiting www.farmville.nccardinal.org.
New, bestselling eBooks are available that may be downloaded to eReading devices such as the iPad, Nook, Kindle, and others. Visit the library’s online eBook collection website (http://e-inc.lib.overdrive.com/) to download titles. Your library card number is required upon checkout.
We also offer access to many additional resources through NC LIVE, North Carolina’s online library. NC LIVE is accessible in the library or remotely. If you would like remote access to NC LIVE, choose “Farmville Public Library” as your institution when prompted and enter your library card number for your password.
Excellent public computing, Internet service, and word processing software are also available for adults, teenagers, and children. For those with laptop computers, free wi-fi is available.
Photocopying, scanning, and lamination services are available at the library for a small fee.
