Economic Development Council

Through an aggressive pro-active approach, the Economic Development Council (EDC), a 501(c)6 membership corporation led by a Board of Directors who are business leaders in the community, works to recruit a diversified mix of business and industry. The EDC promotes the benefits of locating in Farmville, an economically viable small town that is ideally situated along the Raleigh-Greenville Corridor. The EDC is the lead agency for the development and promotion of industrial, corporate and commercial parks, buildings and lots within the community. The EDC was instrumental in the creation of both the Small Business Incubator and the Corporate Park. The EDC owns and operates the Incubator.

In 2009, the EDC created a 501(c)3, Farmville Grows Economic Investment, Inc., a private non-profit committed to lessening government burden and reducing blight by creating opportunities for the underserved. The 501(c)3 affords additional economic opportunities in the community through its charitable purpose. The corporate officers are business leaders in the community.
